The German and English teams were made of ex-players. Germany kicked off the game they have a total of 500 caps between them. England have a brilliant start and have the first 2 good chances of the game but Germany then have a couple good chances but they do not score. Matt Le Tessier has a Golden opportunity but his shot from the edge of the box goes wide. Germany continue to have most of the good chances for the rest of the half. Most of their shots come from the German CaCau but he is unable to convert any of the chances. Lee Hendrie then has a good shot but a good save is made to deny them. The 1st half ends with Germany having a lot of the possession and being strong on the break. The score is 0-0.
England then kick off the 2nd half and Cacau has the 1st good chance in the 2nd half but his shot goes over the bar. The Germans then have another chance but Cacau is unable to finish them. Lee Hendrie has a shot that rebounds off the crossbar, then Germany launch a counter attack but Lee Sharpe makes a crucial block off the line. The game has been in tipping in Germany’s favour but England are looking good in attack. Then due to a German mistake Sheringham plays a pass to Philips who then has a shot which is saved. The ball rebounds to Lee Hendrie who calmly puts the ball into the open net. 1-0 to England with 7 minutes left. During the dyeing embers of the game Germany bombard the box trying to score and level the game but nothing can be done. England beat Germany again and they are going to celebrate at last.
